Cristian and Layla sympathize with Fish when he confesses to being gay on Monday, August 31. Recalling his long-time struggle with his personal identity, Fish reveals that his parents are intolerant of homosexuals. After unburdening himself to his roommates, however, he learns that his parents are preparing to visit Llanview to meet his new girlfriend. On Tuesday, September 1, Cristian and Layla encourage Fish to be honest with his parents, even though he is adamant that will not accept his alternative lifestyle. Destiny looses her nerve after deciding to tell Matthew how she truly feels about him. Rachel bottles up her feelings for Greg, deciding to give Shaun the chance to prove his love for her. Nora kicks David to the curb when he arrives in the courtroom armed with a camera as Matthews trial resumes on Wednesday, September 2. Téa gains ground in Matthews case, however Elijah quickly fires back. Rachel seethes with Rachel during Gregs testimony. By Friday, September 4, Téa tears Rachel to shreds on the witness stand, reminding the court of her past mistakes. Afterward, she runs out of the courtroom with Greg hot on her heels. Catching up with her, the pair share a firey kiss. Téa and Nora becomes cellmates when Judge Henson finds them both in contempt. And Carlotta mistakenly believes Cristian to be gay.
The Inside Story: Love the One Youre With Ross reveals to a floored Blair that he and Téa are legally married on Monday, August 31. After regaining her composure, Blair offers Ross a compromise she will drop the charges against him if he will return to Llanview to split up Todd and Téa. Meanwhile, Todd assures Téa hes serious about wanting to marry her and eagerly awaits her response. Téa manages to stall for time and, when Todd leaves, places a call to Ross. Later, after arriving in Llanview, Ross pays a surprise visit to Téa, who refuses to give him what he wants. Blair gets an idea when Ross informs her that Todd proposed to Téa, and orders him to tell Téa that he will grant her a divorce. Meanwhile, Téa decides to accept Todds proposal, but only if he gives her an engagement ring first. However, when Todd gives her the ring on Wednesday, September 2, she makes an excuse as to why she cant wear it on her finger. Téa is unaware, however, that Ross isnt really going to divorce her, thanks to Blairs scheming. Elijah presents Téa with divorce papers bearing Ross signature. Later, Téa places the engagement ring Todd gave her on a chain and begins wearing it around her neck.
A Closer Look: Alls Fair in Love and Politics Todd strolls through the park, where he observes Cole selling drugs to Justin and conveniently snaps a picture of the pair with his cell phone on Tuesday, September 1. Afterward, he presses Téa on what he should do next. At the police station, John catches Bo and Nora up to speed on Mayor Lowells unsavory activities. With their assistance, John successfully petitions Judge Runyon to give him a warrant to plant a bug in the Mayors office. On Tuesday, September 1, Cole tips off John, who places the cuffs on Justin before he can use the drugs he just purchased. Shortly thereafter, the teen alerts Mayor Lowell that he bought the drugs from Cole. Lowell unleashes his anger on Sergei. At the same time, Todd orders Starr to stay away from Cole. In order to protect the man she loves, Starr confesses to her father that Cole is working undercover. Dorian eavesdrops on Todd and Starrs conversation. John stays one step ahead of Lowell, when he publicly arrests Cole for dealing drugs. By Thursday, September 3, Starr begs her father not to blow Coles cover. Her pleas fall on deaf ears however as Todd, concerned for the safety of his daugther and granddaughter, decides to inform Mayor Lowell. Thinking it is the best way to keep him safe, John places Cole behind bars. Completly unaware of what is really going on, Dorian confides in the Mayor that Cole is working undercover with John. Via the bug they planted in the Mayors office, John and Fish overhear him order Keaton to kill Cole on Thursday, September 3. As the corrupt cop heads for Coles cell, Viki and Charlie challenge Lowell to a public debate. By Friday, September 4, John races to save Cole. Sergei targets Starr and Hope. And Todd re-hires Shaun to protect his family.
