Good morning and welcome back from SF, Sundancer. How was the sailing? Sundancer, do you have 3 or 4 grown kids? Two NC daughters, a son in Ohio, and another daughter in California? That would be 4, non? Or did I over-count somewhere?
We started off again really early this morning, well before 7 while it was still pitch black out there. Argh. Ted left with the car, so I'll be taking taxis all over the place today. My second last stop will be a dentist visit to see about this damn toothache I got last night. I have a bad feeling about it, as in a tooth-pull, but at least it's at the very back of my mouth, so I won't be looking like Mammy Yokum.
So, Moore, DID you get that new camera? It would be such a treat to see some pics from you. I could post some of dust bunnies collecting around here as a tribute to all the excitement in my life. :)
KaeEll, I haven't gotten my new camera yet, and it's my own fault because I can't decide on which one I want. I thought that I had it narrowed down to a Canon, but then made the mistake of reading some reviews on Amazon. Most of them were excellent, but the couple of negative ones made me think of my other camera that died.
The model I was looking at also uses regular AA batteries instead of the weird battery my dead camera used, which can only be found at Best Buy. Too much trouble! Anyway, according to my very very best friend (the one I've known since we were three) is also looking for a new camera, and told me absolutely NOT to get one that uses regular batteries because they don't last long at all, and tend to conk out when you're in the middle of needing a flash, or trying to review the pictures you've just taken.
Of course, if I were to get a larger camera, and spend a lot more money, I could avoid these problems, but I really would like to have something that I can stick in my purse!
I didn't realize that this was going to become so complicated...

Moore my camera uses double AA's and I just bought a set of the rechargeable ones. The best thing is the machine I use to recharge with has a thing that you can plug into your car to charge. Its perfect. And I don't think the batteries drain that fast. I spent an entire day in NYC and my batteries made it all day.
Anyways, I am actually thinking about getting Vinnie a camera for Christmas. He has one but its huge and not very convenient. The problem is that he is a Sony snob. So while I love my Nikon I don't think it would work for him. Good news is that I intend to go shopping on Black Friday and stores always have crazy electronic sales on these days.
The inspector guy from the moving company came today to look at everything and write down what he would need boxes for. Lots of stuff. The company comes next Thursday to pack everything up and then Friday they will be here to take everything. I am getting anxious. Vinnie keeps reminding me that we won't have a house when we get to VA. But when we got here we were only in the hotel for like 2 days before we got our house. So fingers crossed that the same happens with us this time around. Oh, and I just heard Mr. Obama say that he was extending the house tax credit into April. Which means if we can get into a house by April then we get a really nice tax return. YAH!
The girls have their 6 month check up today. Ugh. Which of course means shots. I just hope they let the girls get a flu shot along with the other vaccinations that they have to get.

from right to left: Audrey, Brenda, Eric, and Monica are our 4 adult children. Meanwhile, I will try to post some more current pictures under Photos - Family and Friends
We went sailing in a 38-foot Catalina. It was a lot of fun, but cold out there in the Bay. Brenda is the one that lives in San Francisco. So, Brenda, her boss, boss's husband, and my husband (Frank) and I were on the sail boat.
I, too, need to get a camera, but undecided which would be best for me. Like you, Moore, I want it small enough to fit in my purse.
