Welcome to December!

I can't believe it. How did we manage to leave 11/12 of 2009 behind us already??

I'm putting up our tree today, in a concerted effort to get this task finished before December begins to get away from me. How about everyone else? Are your trees already up?

KaeEll, have you recovered from your drawer-cleaning-turned-major-furniture-move yet? That's happened to me before too, and that's also exactly why I no longer even THINK about cleaning out ANY drawers inside this house!! It would make me realize that I need to build an entire large addition off the back, in order to properly accommodate all the stuff. LOL...

You'll have to post pictures of your new arrangement.

Yes, December already!! We here have a 167 year record - not a snowflake in sight yet this fall! It's a gorgeous day too - 6 degrees and sunny. AND, I just finished all the Christmas shopping. YAY! I found the perfect remote control helicopter for Tony, er, Quentin - one that was on his (ahem) wish list.

I'll post a pic of the new front hall arrangement. We really like having a chair in there to sit down for a moment, but I need to find an armless chair, upholstered, Parson-style-like instead of the bedroom slipper chair I have in there now as a stop-gap. And on Thursday I've got a Benjamin Moore colour consultant coming to help me choose a new shade for the living room and dining room walls, likely a shade of blue. It's a little extravagant, but at least I won't be making any hideous boo boos as I have in the past. Also want to change the bright raspberry truffle colour in the front hall - sick of it after 7 years. I have to be careful not to allow the decor to get too twee.

Whistler is very snowy - shall find one of Nick's pics for you. It looks like it will be a good Olympics winter there. Nick's Club Crawl seems to be doing really well too - he has sold out every week. Mike and Maya were there last weekend on their way to NZ, had a ball but were badly ice-bound in Revelstoke en route. They chose to take the Trans Canada Highway on the way back to Calgary yesterday rather than risk the scenic way and all that weather. They catch their LA flight to Auckland on Friday and end up missing a whole day in transit when they cross the date-line. Weird, non?

Tony's in WV, Mike's usual haunt for the Coast Guards, so the m-i-l is here helping Karin with the kiddlies. The baby's Christening is on Sunday. Tempus fugit!!

I love how the chair looks in the hall, KaeEll. Really nice, but I also see why you want an armless chair. I still like the raspberry paint, but I understand what it's like to become tired of something. I do like it, though, and it looks great behind the table, as well as with the cushion on your chair. I have an armless slipper chair in our bedroom, but you can't have it!! Anyway, it's probably too low to the ground for your current purposes...

The snow in Whistler looks gorgeous. Lordy -- I'm not ready for any of that here yet. And I envy you the end to your Christmas shopping. I have a few bits and pieces that I've gotten over the past few months, but I'm not anywhere near done! Mostly because no one has bothered to let me know what they would like.

AZ-daughter is busy trying to figure out her travel plans for the holidays (here we go again), and this time she needs to figure out what to do with her two kittens. She can board them (but is nervous about it), or she can bring them here (Jim and I are allergic, but what the hell), depending on the airline fees. She has a friend who works for one of the airlines who's hoping to pull some strings for her, but these days, it may not be possible!

I guess I'd better go do something productive. You've inspired me, KaeEll...
