Yay, and thank goodness! Those long nights, starting here at about 4:30 in the afternoon in early December, really started getting us down. Waking up to total darkness was also a bit daunting, and I'd often think about those living farther north from us having even more night time than we did here. And while our sunsets lasted and lasted for sometimes an hour or more compared to the equatorial 5:30 setting sun that was there one minute and gone the next, I'm more than a little relieved that the darkest days are behind us for another year.

Is anyone else longing for spring yet?

Even for those of us struggling to get through this snowy winter, here's a really enjoyable video, taken by one brother of the other skiing at both dawn and sunset. I loved the snow crystal shots. The unbelievable wonders of nature, eh?

Poor Sharon wants to use daffodils in her wedding but is getting married a month too soon. Hopefully we can find some good fake ones at the craft store.

I am ready for spring. I have this nice backyard with a good privacy fence so Jolene can play outside without me having to worry about her too much. I look forward to this summer with the girls because they will be more active and likely running around.

Sharon may be able to find fresh daffodils for her wedding. My daughter's sister-in-law got married last September and had peonies shipped in!

KaeEll, your pictures really perked me up! I love the flowers, and I also love your bright green pillows. Are those new?? Maybe the picture is just taken from an angle I haven't seen before, but everything looks really cheerful...

Sorry I haven't been around much lately; I don't know where the time is going, but I guess I've been busier than usual. Lots of emails to send people, club issues, etc., etc., and then I notice that my day is gone!
