Argh - it's minus 8 today. Mittens and scarves again. *sigh*
Yesterday I took the little ones on a shopping spree at a local mall. THAT was fun, LOL. Q took off on me and there I was charging through the mall with Vanessa in hot pursuit. Q ended up crashing into a display of toilet paper in the pharmacy, just like that puppy does on a TV commercial. We had a little chat about that! I carried him the rest of the way back to the big comfy chair in the middle where K was nursing the baby. I plopped the coffees and apple juice on the little round table between us. V leaned on it. Coffee everywhere.
Then I picked up my mother, trekked off to another huge mall, ran in and bought my liquid soaps (Bath and Body Works) then stopped by to pick up some fish and chips for my parents' dinner. They like 2 and a few, cider vinegar on the side, polished it all off. I get indigestion just thinking about it. By the time I was home, 8-ish, I was catatonic but wide awake, thanks to that last few sips of un-spilled coffee, lol.
This morning is the usual Friday. I have a few minutes before heading out again. What's up today?
It is 62 here, a wet 62. And everywhere I go I hear people talk about how the temp is going to drop into the 30's. I pray they are wrong.
Not much going on here. Took a trip to the store and got the girls a few outfits. I can't believe that Easter is right around the corner. And Moore we will be in the DC area the 9th until that Sunday. I think we will stay in Vienna. I have a friend who lives there and I found a cheap hotel. 69 bucks for a Marriot Courtyard. Not bad.
LOL!! Oh, the joys of taking little ones to the mall... What a day you had!
I love fish and chips, so I probably would have been chowing down with your parents! Several years ago, when Jim and I were taking watercolor classes together in Old Town Alexandria, we used to go to lunch at a little pub down the street. They had the BEST fish and chips, so it became our Saturday routine. YUM! We'd sit there with a little wine, rehashing what we'd learned in class, gabbing about the kids, and eating food we had absolutely no business eating! LOL...
How do you like the new salon, KaeEll?
It's raining again today, and Jim is here. He'd gone into work early this morning, for a meeting that got postponed, but wasn't feeling all that well (not sleeping well), so decided to begin his weekend a little early. We shared one last dried cherry muffin, left over from a batch I'd made two days ago.
Not much on our plate today, other than little odds and ends.

I'm not sure whether I'll be here that weekend or not. I'm in a dilemma over whether I should go down to Staunton that weekend. It's reunion weekend at my old boarding school, and although it isn't the right year for my own class, the Alumnae/i Council is doing a lot of "stuff" that weekend, and I've now been nominated to join. I hadn't planned to go down there, but now I think that I ought to go participate, to show that I'm serious about helping out.
Still debating... I guess I ought to ask the person who nominated me whether or not it's expected. I'm not officially ON the council yet, and their next meeting isn't until June. That's kind-of when I'd planned to go. IF I'm actually invited to join, that is...

Yeah, fish and chips are one of our old faves, but alas, they do not sit well in the tum any more. Ugh.
The new salon is fantastic! My mother is treated very well, no waiting. I go to the big salon across the way that is a bit more expensive than I used to pay so I don't get my hair done every week, but I really do like it a lot better. It's nice to be at a large shopping centre too. There's a grocer, a coffee shop. a candy store (heh heh), shoe and dress shops, druggist, etc. So when I have time to spare I can get some errands run. Today I ran into a lady I used to see all the time many years ago, so it's nice to be back in the "thick" of things. So after all the gnashing of teeth and the hurt feelings, I'm getting over the change and my mom is too, thank goodness.
My favourite TV show is on right now, "Location, Location, Location". If I could only get Ted to stop thumping around and talking to me...LOL!
