Happy Mother's Day!

To all the mothers here:

Unfortunately for me I won't be able to see any of my four grown children for Mother's Day!

Aww, my poor mom is in UT by herself for moms day too. My dad isn't even there. That is why I sent her flowers. She said they were all very vibrant colors and some of them hadn't opened yet which means she will have flowers for a long time.

Happy Moms Day to my 2 internet moms. I love you guys.

Shelly, why is your mom in Utah? Did she receive the flowers?

Mother's Day was for me quite a surprise of the very nicest kind! Tony and his crew came over as did my mother and dad. The guys cooked kabobs, made salad, put out yummy befores and we had pecan pie and apple crisp for dessert. Mike called early from California to say that my new macbook would be delivered next week, from him and Nick and Ted too. I was SO SURPRISED!! Tony's family gave me flowers, wine and a gorgeous turquoise glass bracelet. Nick called too, groggy from his late night hosting another one of his club crawls. He's well ensconced in his new condo now, loving it. ( *sigh* I can be such a crabby old thing. Yesterday proved THAT. )

We just finished the clean-up. The dining room was the customary MESS, and thank goodness for Chloe, the four-legged vacuum cleaner. Today is baby-sitting from one till seven-ish, the gymnastics thing for V. Q and I hang around, make some dinner, try to tidy up a bit, run around outside chasing robins and wasps and picking some flowers (weeds actually).

I am impossible on this damn diet. Late last night I got into a tin of cashews and ate about a cup of them. Also polished off a box of Peak Frean shortcake cookies. Today I shall have only water with lime squeezed in it and refrain from dropping in the three sugar lumps that make it palatable.

How was your MD, Moore? Brandon, did you do anything for Patricia?

Well, the government closed the post office plant that my mom worked at in Phoenix. With a little over 2 years left to retire her options were to move to another plant (they can't afford to move her and my dad because our house is almost paid for and who wants to start over at 60), go work another job that she likely wouldn't be able to do because of health reasons (diabetes and complications from) or retire early and lose out on money. So she moved....and I think she is getting lonely. I am very sad for her so I am glad she got the flowers to help liven up her apartment.

We took Patricia and her mom out to Benihana (thank you new Camry issue makeup gift card) and got her some jewelry. We also had her sisters b-day party yesterday too. Very busy.

Happy belated Mother's Day to everyone! It sounds like everyone had a nice one.

Mine was quiet, which was nice, and I'm now in crazy overdrive for our trip to Arizona. Yes -- Mother's Day for me was all about relaxing!
