Since anyone has posted here. I hope that means everyone had an awesome weekend. Kae did you post about Canada Day? If not how was it? Anything fun?
We did the fireworks thing this weekend down on the harbor. It was nice, and had a barbeque. I love that I live close enough t family now to have barbecues so often.
Moore it sounds like your sons new place is turning out to be very nice. Kae I will pray for the best in regards to Mike's new place. Hopefully he will get tired of it fast and move again...or maybe his lady friend will smack some sense in to him and they will find something better. I don't look forward to having kids that age. I like it when they have to listen to what I tell them.
Anyways, what are you all up to? How are you combating this heat>
I have been very busy lately. Played tennis 4 mornings this week. I am watching my grandson ocassionally, doing some dancing, had my two daughters and son-in-law, and two other grandchildren here from Charlotte, NC. We had two reunions to go to. Played Bridge Tuesday and took a practice Conversational Spanish class yesterday. I am starting to forget some of the words! So, this was a good review.
It seems that everyone here is very busy these days!
Sundancer, I'd lost a lot of my French until my youngest daughter began studying it fairly intensely. That helped me refresh my own memory, but I think it's sliding back towards "losing it" again. LOL... I'd take a conversational class, but unfortunately I'm not going to be around many French speaking people, on a regular basis. HEY, as long as I can still read menus, I'm good! The great irony is that, after all those years studying French, I ended up working for a Puerto Rican whose clients all spoke Spanish. And that's just my kind of luck...
I think we've probably pretty much lost KaeEll for the summer, since she's babysitting grandbabies on a daily basis now. KaeEll, if you're reading this, you deserve a foot massage at the end of each day, a long bubble bath, and a cold glass of wine!
Shelly, I'm staying inside with my needlepoint to stay cool. We're still dealing with our son's move to his apartment, though, so tomorrow I need to hang out there until his dining room table and chairs are delivered. Last night was the first night he spent there (he'd been house/dog sitting for some friends up in Maryland), and he loved being there.
AZ-daughter is currently in NC, doing a round of job interviews. There's one job in particular that she really wants, but she's already been told that one person is flying in from Ohio to interview next week, and one from France. So, she's worried. On the positive side, they called her back within a couple of hours after her first interview this morning, and asked if she would come back tomorrow to meet with the Director of the facility. I think that's a pretty good sign, but I guess we'll have to wait until next week to know for certain... Hold good thoughts!
