I more or less enjoy Rosie, although I don't take that show seriously enough to get my knickers in a twist over some of her remarks, like the day she went off on Kelly Ripa (who I really can't stand anyway). Rosie's a little too sensitive about politically correct attitudes and comes off a bit self-righteous sometimes, but I do like her. She has certainly brought a different flavour to The View!
Early last evening, while waiting for the troops to descend, I caught a half hour of the Ellen Show with Hugh Laurie and Tommy Lee, and I was laughing my head off. Now that's a really light-hearted and fun little programme. Ellen's sense of fun is infectious and gentle. I'll try to catch her more often, as I felt so warm and fuzzy after watching. The segment of her and the red sofa was hilarious. It reminded me so much of a Canadian show from Montreal called "Just for Laughs" where they play practical jokes on an unsuspecting public to catch their reactions to absurd situations. I think we all need to laugh more often.
i like rosie...but unlike Kae I really like kelly ripa so it annoyed me that she was bagging on her. Especially over that Aiken thing, I would have made the same remark she did....But on the View everyone of them has their moments. I mean even Joy, who I love, is still all snobbish about the Danny Devito thing.
And I am a little annoyed with Rosie cause of how she was calling Kirstie Allen a lier because of the weight she has lost...Its like why cant you be happy for someone
Oh yeah that was wrong, I remember hearing that and thinking. Gees Kirstie isn't the hottest chick out there, but she's trying. She's really put herself out there lately. Then I was like, well dang when I lose weight again is this going to be how people look at me?
I dunno, I can handle most things Rosie does because I really liked her old show, but it's getting hard. The comments about the Chinese people were very insulting and very dumb if you ask me. They are a very respectable nation, but you certainly don't want to tick them off.
Im just a really big Kirstie fan, and it think it is awesome that she has lost that much weight. Whether she has really lost 75 pounds or not, i personally dont see why she would lie, but either way she has lost a lot of weight. for the most part i like rosie too, if only for the entertainment value...
I thought Rosie's remark about the Clay Aiken thing was ridiculous, too, Shelly! Kelly didn't want germs thrust in her face, and I would have reacted as Kelly did, too. Heck, the first thing I do when I get to where I'm going via subway is wash my hands with hot water and soap. I'm germ-conscious as well as Kelly and many people who are around kids a lot.
I missed the Chinese remark and the Kirstie Allie one too (I don't watch it every day), but if Rosie was knocking Kirstie for lying about losing weight, did she not see her before and after pictures? I saw her on Oprah the day she appeared in a bikini, and she looked fantastic! Yeah, so what she had on slimming panty hose. I thought she was remarkably brave to make that apppearance.
Here's Lainey's take on Rosie from LaineyGossip.com
Trump on Rosie: Queen-sized Temper
I have never been as entertained watching The View as I have been over the last few months. And I have ALWAYS loved The View. When I was between jobs, when this column was just a fledgling newsletter, when Star Jones was still a fortuitous feng shui fattie, The View was must-see-tv, in between Winsor Pilates and lunch, The View kept me sane. Which is why I was worried at first, that Rosie the Nice, the one who played bells and jingles and loved everyone on her own talk show, I was worried that that Rosie would show up.
Thank Goddess that Rosie disappeared up Tom Cruise’s ass, replaced now by the bulldyke we know and love, taking on an even bigger Queen known as Donald Trump, who blew his billionaire stack yesterday over comments she made on the show about his hypocritical “second chance” offering to Miss USA. Granted, she did play dirty, she did bring up the past infidelity, she questioned his standing as a “moral compass” considering the failures in his personal life, but by far the most injurious blow was the bankruptcy reminder.
Forget calling him a cheater and a “snake oil salesman”…what really galls a megalomaniac like Trump is the insult to his bank account. And a result, the very manly man Donald Trump threw a supersized hissy fit yesterday on Access Hollywood, calling Rosie fat, calling her ugly, telling her he’s going to sue, and warning her that he was going to have his henchman or henchwomen taken away her girlfriend because Rosie is, in his mind, too unattractive to hold on to a nice woman.
Let’s not bother discussing the Low Classy factor of his remarks…waste of time.
Let’s focus instead on the Sexy Quotient, or lack thereof.
I’m all for a dude who stands up for himself – we were at the hockey game once and some drunk ass redneck spilled beer all over me and my husband got all hot and hunky in my defense and I totally got off on the swordfight …but there’s a difference, you know? Call me sexist but to me there’s a difference.
There’s a difference between a man crankin’ up the testosterone on behalf of his woman and a millionaire crankin’ up his queen-sized bitch and whining about it on national television because someone hurt his feelings.
As the Donald would say: the Donald is a total disaster, a total PR f&ck up. But the best part is that this prick doesn’t backpedal. Which means his hole is just going to get deeper.
i have to say that I loved every word she said about the Donald...it was great. Its just a few celebs that I really like and for some dumb reason get offended for them....Just like when I am talking with my non soap viewers and they make fun of the acting capabilities of soap stars...i get offended for them
Har, my local news station just replayed Rosie's anti-Donald rant in full, and I loved it. What she did with her hair was too funny! Then the news station asked people to call in to "Talk Back Toronto" with their comments, and nobody supported the Donald, LOL!
And as Lainey said, his queen-size bitch whine kicked into high gear and now he's suing her....for what? Being a little overweight? I want to see this drama unfold and I'm 100% behind Rosie on this one.
there are days i love rosie & days i just want to bitch smack her clear into canada.
her remarks to/about kelly ripa were totally off base. first, kelly wasn't referring to whether or not clay is gay (& how dare rosie say he is when he is undeclared.....& she talks about respect). what i got from kelly was she felt her personal space was violated....and she is the host. clay would never have done that to regis. clay showed total disrespect to kelly. total.
as for her comments about trump claiming to be a moral compas. not so IMO. every one of those girls have to sign a contract to compete & that contract has a morals clause. the girl in question was clearly in violation of that contract. trump offered her a choice....step down or go to rehab. i thought that was a fair assessment of the options.
when rosie was mouthing off about trump i figured that barbara was going to have a stroke. she's never hidden the fact that they are good friends. it was impolitic of rosie to say the least to go after a good friend of BW's.
i often think rosie is dead on w/her comments & she can be really funny most days. then there are days like these two where i think someone needs to slap a muzzle on her.
