I never knew they were so close, there's a bit of an age difference for them to have been friends. wasn't Jess like 10 years old when Todd was in college?

Marty and Jessica may have had a good relationship and Jessica looked up to Marty in some shape or form. Marty seemed unusually comfortable with Viki and some of the rest of the Buchanans so maybe they supported her in some after the rape or something.
EDIT:
There's nothing in Jessica's profile that says she had a strong relationship with Marty but that doesn't necessarily mean they didn't have some scenes together or whatever.

It was a WTF moment for me too. While Jess and Marty have interacted and may have been okay friends, they never had a really close relationship that would warrant this "buddy buddy, I'll tell you all about my DID" lunch.
Well I can't claim to have the best Memory, but I think all this stuff with Marty is as NU as she is! I hardly remember her and Viki being close, could be wrong though! They're leading us into something you can bet on that.

vaguely i think i remember kevin being in college w/marty & didn't he attend the party where marty was raped? wasn't he accused as one of the possible rapists & then he was cleared?
i think back then jessica was a teen...young to mid? she would have had some contact w/kevin & his friends & this slightly older group.
the SORASing makes it hard to get a sense of time & place.
i like this marty. she has incredibly big shoes to fill & she's forced to battle w/crappy, crappy writing. character behavior is writer generated not actor generated. even if susan haskell had been able to come back marty would be behaving this way.
i actually enjoyed the martie/jessica interaction. i'd like to see more of it.
