apparently at the post award interviews for the GA cast the subject arose regarding IW using the *F* word about tk. shonda said it had been handled (essentially) & IW grabs the mic & loudly proclaims that he never said faggot about tk. tk looked extremely uncomfortable & angry. katherine heigl had a few harsh words about IW not being allowed near a mic (lol). she & tk are *best friends* & she will go to the mat for him.
seems this story is not over yet.
i have to admit this word flows just a tad to easily from IW's lips for my comfort. he could have addressed the issue w/o once again using the word. that seemed to be katherine's objection (mainly) to his actions. she said she would probably get in trouble for even speaking about the whole thing....shonda keeps a very tight rein on her cast & crew.
IW gave access hollywood an interview afterwards & he sturck me as being angry & aggressive about it, but if he feels falsely accused that would make sense.
IMO the fact that TK looked angry & extremely uncomfortable.....and has made no public comments speaks more than any words IW might use.
the whole thing is just sad.

Washington Set To Be Fired?
Isaiah Washington is on the verge of being fired from hit TV show Grey's Anatomy, according to media reports in the US. Washington sparked a public backlash last week when he denied calling co-star TR Knight "a f****t" during a press conference at the Golden Globe Awards. And now, according to E! Online reporter Kristin Veitch, executives at ABC are looking for ways to sack the troubled star, who plays Dr. Preston Burke on the show. She writes on her blog, "(I) just received word from a highly placed source within the Touchstone/ABC family that ABC and Disney executives are currently considering the option of firing Isaiah Washington from Grey's Anatomy, effective immediately, without having him appear in any kind of farewell episode. According to this reliable source, if the network does follow through with this option, the producers are likely to run a full-screen announcement at the beginning of the first Burke-less episode that announces Isaiah Washington is no longer part of the show. I'm also told by various sources that the loss of Preston Burke is not an easy task for Grey's writing staff to deal with, given that he has a major storyline (including a life-changing event) coming in the next few episodes that air during February sweeps. Those episodes have already been shot." ABC issued a statement last week calling Washington's behavior "unacceptable" and he has since issued an apology and met with gay leaders.
IN ADDITION: mr. washington has checked himself into rehab. yes, well we all know everything is forgiven if a celeb checks into rehab to mea culpa. i'm not buying it!

I thought I heard something about him saying he would never use that word again, was he being sarcastic? They seemed all nicey nice on Oprah a while back
after the show won the golden globe there was a press thingy. the question came up & shonda was nicely diverting the press when IW grabbed the mic & loudly declared that he never called TR a f...... patrick dempsey was looking mighty uncomfortable ~~~ remember it was he who actually had harsh words w/IW in the first place over this ~~~ & there was a shot of TR Knight also looking very upset.
later that night IW went to access hollywood & did an interview where he again used the word while *explaining* that he didn't use it the first time. it was a lot of, IMO, i think he doth protest too much. on top of that the word flows way too easily out of his mouth for him to be believed.
abc has issued a statement saying the "actor has been repremanded & has made an apology". slap on the wrist me thinks.
i don't think he'll be fired, but i can sure see them writing him out at the end of this season. i thought it was great that TR went on ellen & called IW out as a liar. TR had not intended to come out when he did. he did it b/d he knew the press would be like a dog w/a bone over it.
