LMAO, here's another one that is actually true.

My friend Jenifer had to call into work because her dog ate her keys.

Oh, I've got a true one too!

A very strange woman I worked with a gazillion years ago said that she couldn't come into work that day because she couldn't get the soap off of her body.

That's right.  That's what I said...

Apparently, she missed the memo from the apartment manager that the water would be turned off for a few hours on a particular day.  She was in the shower, and all soaped up when the water went off.

Woops...

I wish that I could remember more of her excuses, but that was one of the weirdest.  It might have been amusing if she hadn't offered up these kinds of things so often!

I can't remember now if this other episode was one of her excuses for not coming to work, but I do remember that she had another emergency plumbing problem once.  It seems that her bathroom sink became dislodged from the bathroom wall.

That's because she and one of her boyfriends were having sex in it, and the weight was apparently too much for it!

The sink???  The shower or the tub, maybe, but the sink???  Wouldn't the faucet hurt someone's back?  I wouldn't know, I'm just speculating...

I KNOW, Jessica!!!  Me too.  That's part of what was so strange about this person.  But, she didn't care...  The thing that was so confusing about her is that she was actually quite intelligent, and was very well-read.

But, wow.

And, I have a soft voice, but this one's voice was barely above a whisper.  Sometimes, she would be telling us something, and we'd have to ask several times because we couldn't believe what we were hearing.  We often attributed that to her soft voice.  Seriously, sometimes it just looked like her lips were moving!  But, then we'd make the mistake of asking her to repeat what she'd said, and lo and behold, we'd heard it right the first time...

Oh boy I had a friend like that she had no problem blurting out all sorts of intimate details about her life. Things that made normal people blush prfusely.

My husband has a co-worker that calls in sick all the time, makes his doc appointments during work time, etc.  won't drive in if it snows, even if all the other employees made it to work from further away

They nearly fired him once, he used up all his PTO time, but at the last minute he came to work (he was tipped off by someone)!  I was so pissed just because of all the stories I've hear about him.

He should have never been hired, he's like  a loud/foul mouthed construction worker type in the Information Systems department (mostly quiet nerdy types) and he's lazy and complains and calls in sick every time his sick time builds up again!

But my husband's boss is this soft hearted woman who just won't admit she made a mistake when she hired him!!!

Blows the mind!

Back in the days when I was a project manager, I had one of my staff call in sick with the excuse.... I can't come in today.  My dog has an ear infection, and I need to take her to the vet's office.

I will not tell you what I thought of that excuse!
