The following is taken directly from my August 5th column which was rather prolific considering the announcement this past week regarding the cancellation of Passions:
And for all my fellow Andrea Evan's (Tina/OLTL) fans out there, we may just get a shot at seeing Llanview's favorite damsel in distress return to the fold. I've just gotten word that Passions has been given 6 months to live. If what I was told is true, they are going to be wrapping up stories and closing shop in 6 months time. Please don't shoot the messenger here, I'm only passing on what I was told (I can see it now...Passions fans will be buying up the last of the Ravenbeauty voodoo dolls on E-bay leaving ABC fans with nothing to stick pins in this month)!
It has indeed been 6 months and the announcement is everywhere leaving NBC fans disgruntled and saddened. In the spirit of turning lemons into lemonade, I propose we do this. I'm going to ask you guys to get out your pens and paper for yet another good cause. If there was ever a time to strike while the iron is hot, it's now. Andrea Evans left a huge void on OLTL when she was forced to leave New York due to the stalker who made her life a living hell (I know that most of you are well aware of the real life stalker that drove Andrea out of New York and off the show). Before anyone can scoop her up and sign her somewhere else, we need to write the show and it must be now. I doubt Andrea would ever move back to New York, but she may be willing to consider commuting much like Tuc (David/OLTL) did for so many years. Let ABC know that we really want to see Andrea Evans back as Tina Lord. This is the chance we've been waiting for. If we don't strike now, it may be too late. I would write one letter to Brian Frons and make a copy (or CC Valentini, Higley and Sweeney on the list so you do not have to write more then one letter). Our letters helped to put fan favorites Hillary Smith and Catherine Hickland (love ya Cat-wink) back where they belong. Our voice is important and we need to use it.
there may be more...I will copy and paste as I read
An announcement is coming that will explain why so many storyline changes are taking place at OLTL. Regulars readers of this column already know who I am talking about (and she is not the only one but these things take time gang, they do not happen overnight). Replacing a writer is a much bigger task then replacing a character or performer. Not one, but two shows are getting new scribes. Just hang in there and don't sweat it...it's coming. We just finished hanging up our stockings and putting our trees away. Give it a little more time for people to settle into the New Year.
I guess thats all of the gossip...I will report back with actual spoilers
